Most of the people visit Goa for leisure but for me it’s always for a business launch. Last December in 2015, I was there in Goa for the Tata Motors Zica (Tiago) launch where I stayed in Alila Diwa Goa. Here is my review of Alila Diwa Goa.
Alila Diwa Goa resort is located at Gonsua Beach in Majorda, just 20 minutes from Goa Dabolim International Airport. This luxury resorts perfect place those who looking to spend some quality time with a beautiful view of palm tree & green farms around the resort.
Ambience
The Alila Diwa Goa perfectly blends the best of Goa architecture with rich cultural traditions & green plantations. They didn’t cut the old trees at the property instead they developed the entire resort around the trees. The Hotel used local red laterite stone & polished Kota stone, from corridor to room, you can see the subtle shades of teak. The Goan presence can be seen all over the interior through simple furniture with clean lines.
Entire Resort ambience color is either Red or Brown and has a mix with the green environment. The fountains, water rail & pool further enhanced the Resort ambience.
Rooms
Alila Diwa Goa boasts a total of 153 luxury rooms and suites placed in two wings South & West Wing. I lived in the Terrace Room at Alila Diwa Goa which is the standard Room in the Resort. The spacious room has a private balcony, bar, 40” LED TV, Electronics safe, walk-in wardrobe, work space and a very unique sliding door bathroom.
The two-way sliding doors separate bathroom with the bedroom. In the bathroom, wardrobe and bathtub placed side by side and then toilet, dressing place & glass covered bathroom placed. I like the idea of separating bathroom with the rest of the bathroom. I’m sure the couple on honeymoon will love this. Also, all the shampoo, water shower gel etc are put into the copper flask. In a traditional indian culture, people used the copper items for bathing & cooking.
The balcony comes with sofa and fan so that you can enjoy the beautiful garden view from the balcony without worrying about the hot weather.
Dining
Alila Diwa Goa has a total of 3 restaurants and a bar which serves you all types of food in the different atmosphere.
Vivo: Vivo offered Oriental, Indian and continental with buffet facility. It has both Indoor and shaded open-air spaces.
Spice Studio: Spice studio is the best restaurant you can try. You can enjoy food in an open environment with banyan tree and water body around you. it features a menu celebrating regional fare from across India and an extensive array of seafood. You can choose from cuisine from the Northern region of the country (Punjab, Rajasthan, Kashmir and Awadhi style), South India, Eastern influences (Assam, Bengal, Orissa), Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa.
Bistro: If you want to enjoy food with a view of Pool then this restaurant is for you. This restaurant offers light meals with Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences.
Activities
Alila Diwa Goa has a lot more to offer to make your stay relaxing and full of activities. You can dive into the open lap pool with an open air Jacuzzi and hot tub. The best part of the pool is relaxing beach chair that floats in a pool. You can enjoy the beautiful view of surrounding with mock tail in one hand.
The Resort also has a spa which features 2 double treatment rooms, 2 Ayurveda rooms and 5 single treatment rooms, each equipped with individual steam, shower and outdoor patio with daybed. Two of the double rooms boast a private Jacuzzi and chilled shower.
You can also enjoy the beach walk at Gonsua Beach which is 600m away from the resort. The Beach is quiet as compared to other Goa beach.
Conclusion
Very Few Resorts managed to provide such luxuries in a natural environment. Alila Diwa Goa Resort is one of them and so far this is the best Resort I ever visited. I highly recommend this resort specially to the couple. The resort has spacious rooms with marvelous bathroom with private balcony, lap pool with floating relaxing chair, delicious food and most importantly closed to quite & peaceful Gonsua Beach.
