I’m partial to this city as I live here, but there are so many reasons that you must include this city in your itinerary. The Udaipur is also known for the City of Lakes and the reason behind is that you’ll many lakes in and around the Udaipur. Pichola Lake is world famous where you get the mesmerizing view of the City Palace, built on the bank of Lake and two famous islands Jag Mandir and Taj Lake Palace. In Udaipur, you can enjoy Lakes, Palace, Museums, Gardens, fountains, temples and handicrafts.

Mount Abu – The Hill Station of Rajasthan

The Mount Abu is the nearest destination you can reach from the Udaipur. Mount Abu is a very popular destination near Udaipur and due to the closeness of Gujrat border, you’ll always find the tourist here. Mount Abu is the only hill station in the Rajasthan.

Visitors can enjoy the beautiful temples, lake, fort and Wildlife Sanctuary. You also don’t want to miss the 11-13th centuries AD temples.

Pushkar – The Holy Town

Pushkar is the holy town of Rajasthan. The little town has full of colors, religious ghats, traditional handmade items and artifacts. The town curls around a holy lake and you’ll find many cheap hotels. You can also buy numerous traditional handmade items from the market. The Ajmer City is also very near and you can visit there to visit additional tourist places.

Jaipur – The Pink City

Jaipur, the Capital and Pink City is again must visit place. Jaipur nicely blends the ancient part nicely with the modern city. The City is on the path to become next metro city. The connectivity between Jaipur and Delhi is so good that it often attracts Delhi people for weekend holidays.

In Jaipur, you can view the ancient Rajputa forts, palaces, gardens, traditional shops, arts and crafts and cuisine.

Jodhpur – The Blue City

Jodhpur – also known as the Blue City. Jodhpur is the 2nd largest City in Rajasthan. The Jodhpur is also very popular for architectural and cultural heritage and house painted with blue colors. Jodhpur is the desert city and so temperature is slightly higher. I recommend you to visit the old city, the city inside the several gates where you can mostly see the blue painted house.

Jaisalmer – The Golden City

Jaisalmer, the city located in the heart of the Thar Desert. The city also known as The Golden City which holds fort, palace, temples and sand dune. If you love the vibrancy of the desert then Jaisalmer is for you.

Camel safari on sand dunes is must and you can also enjoy fire camp at night. If non-veg is allowed, then try lamb cooked in desert style.

Ranthambore – The Royal Hunting Ground

Ranthambore is popular for its National Park, where you can see the tiger and other animals. Tigers can easily spot even in the daytime. During Rajwada time, the land was used for Hunting ground by Royal families where they hunt down the animals including tiger. Later got turned this into the National Park. There also a 10th century Ranthambore Fort.
